All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) - 2026
AISSEE-2026 for the Academic Year 2026-27 covers admission to Classes VI and IX of 33 Sainik Schools
and Class VI for all 69 New Sainik Schools and Class IX of 19 New Sainik Schools.
Conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) under the Ministry of Defence.
About Sainik Schools
Established in 1961, Sainik Schools are managed by the Sainik Schools Society
under the Ministry of Defence. There are 33 Sainik Schools across India,
each dedicated to preparing students for defense services and nation-building.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit: 10-12 years for Class VI, 13-15 years for Class IX
Education: Must have passed previous class with minimum marks
Gender: Open for both boys and girls in selected schools
Mission & Vision
To prepare students academically, physically, and mentally for entry into
the National Defence Academy and other defense services. Focus on developing
leadership qualities, discipline, and patriotic values.

Fee Payment: Upto 31.10.2025 (Upto 11:50 PM)
Correction Window: 02.11.2025 to 04.11.2025
Examination: January 2026
Result Declaration: Within 6 weeks after exam
Fee Structure
General/Defence/OBC (NCL): ₹ 850/-
SC/ST Candidates: ₹ 700/-
Payment Mode: Credit/Debit Card/Net-Banking/UPI

Examination Schedule
Class VI: 02:00 pm to 04:30 pm (150 minutes)
Class IX: 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm (180 minutes)
Mode: Paper pencil on OMR answer sheets
Medium: 13 languages for Class VI, English only for Class IX

Class VI Pattern
Total Marks: 300
Language: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks
Mathematics: 50 questions × 3 marks = 150 marks
Intelligence: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks
General Knowledge: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks
Class IX Pattern
Total Marks: 400
Mathematics: 50 questions × 4 marks = 200 marks
Intelligence: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks
English: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks
General Science: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks
Social Science: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks
Qualifying Criteria
Sainik Schools: Min. 25% in each section and 40% aggregate
New Sainik Schools: Same criteria for all candidates including SC/ST
No Negative Marking: For wrong responses
Language Options: 13 languages available for Class VI

Reservation: Home State/Outside State concept applies
Merit List: School-wise, category-wise, gender-wise
New Sainik Schools - 40% Route
Category 'A': Minimum 40% seats
Basis: All India Merit List (no domicile/category restrictions)
Eligibility: Any student who qualifies AISSEE
Choice: Can opt for any NSS in India during counselling
New Sainik Schools - 60% Route
Category 'B': Maximum 60% seats
Eligibility: Currently studying in the same NSS
Basis: School-wise Merit List
Note: Vacancies filled by Category 'A' if Category 'B' students unavailable
